Cutout1969-1976

Boothville, Louisiana

The town in Plaquemines Parish where my parents lived at the time of my birth. Plaquemines Parish was wiped out from Hurricane Katrina in August 2005. Most relatives moved and Uncle Wayne Michael Scarabin has never been found since the storm.

1976-1982

Tembagapura, Indonesia

The town on the island of New Guinea where my parents took me and my two brothers after my dad accepted a job over there with Freeport-McMoRan. We arrived there on April 27, 1976 and moved back to Louisiana (Slidell) on August 14, 1982. We did get opportunities to return in the 1990s due to my dad working over there again for 5+ years beginning in 1991. My sister was born in Tembagapura.

1982-1988

Slidell, Louisiana

The city in St. Tammany Parish where we lived after leaving Indonesia. My high school years were spent in Slidell. I often refer to it as my hometown though I only lived there for 6 years..

1988-1990

New York

The state where I went on my two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I served in the New York Rochester Mission in the towns/cities of Warsaw, Ilion, Syracuse, Amherst, Pittsford and Orchard Park.

1991-1995

Provo, Utah

The city where I attended and graduated from Brigham Young University in April 1995 with a B.A. in Communications. During this time, parents and sister moved back to Indonesia and summers were spent there and traveling throughout the world. When this period of my life ended, traveling came to a grinding halt.

1995-2008

California

The state where I moved after graduating BYU and spending the 1995 summer in New Orleans... and where I've lived since. I also met my wife and had my son here. Our son is our singular focus and we spend all of our time with him. We love living in California and plan to stay here until a brighter opportunity presents itself. Nothing beats the warm weather year round. Earthquakes and fires can be a concern, but overall California is a great place to live!
